Saint Bernadette
Lancaster, OH
Saturday, June 4th to June 6th
St. Bernadette visited Lancaster, Ohio June 4, 5 and 6, 2022. "Father Tyron Tomson, our Pastor, received the relics on June 4th and welcomed her to St. Bernadette Catholic Church," says Kathy Kehnast, Parish Secretary. "On Sunday, Bishop Earl Fernandes, who had just been ordained bishop on May 31st, celebrated our confirmation mass. The students had the privilege of having the relics at their confirmation. On Sunday evening, we had 'Music for Mary' which was a concert of Marian hymns sung by our choir and various soloists. Our Pastor celebrated the Litany Of Loretto, with a candlelight procession to the grotto. The weather was beautiful. Then, on Monday, it stormed and rained. At 9:00 p..m., just as Father rang the bell and processed out of the sanctuary, every light in the church went out due to the storm. We were left with only the candles surrounding the Reliquary and the Sanctuary Lamp. The timing and glow around St. Bernadette was magnificent. People said it was Bernadette's extra gift to us."
Father Tomson shared these words,"An incredibly beautiful and eminently prayerful celebration. What a time of fantastic grace for the huge crowds of pilgrims, and for us! The glorious memories are etched well into our minds and profound holiness deep into our souls from this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
